I know that there is no law requiring most Americans to address the U.S. president in a particular manner. Due to proper respect, protocol, etc. to the U.S. president and the office he holds, tradition indicates that our current president would also be referred to as either President Obama or Mr. President. Also, I am aware that some people disrespect our current president and say he is not “legitimate” and therefore refuse to refer to him by the title that he has earned in our democratic system. However, why does the media frequently refer to him as Mr. Obama and not President Obama?
