Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the first sentence in the quote below said that things needed to be toned down because of the Tucson tragedy and then brought up the Tea Party. I believe that forms a connection. I don’t believe she deserves the pass you gave her.
"We need to make sure that we tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy from a year ago, where my very good friend, Gabby Giffords - who is doing really well, by the way, - [was shot]," Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chair said during a "Politics and Eggs" forum this morning. "The discourse in America, the discourse in Congress in particular . . . has really changed, I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement."
hesitate |ˈheziˌtāt|
verb [ intrans. ]
pause before saying or doing something, esp. through uncertainty : she hesitated, unsure of what to say.
• [with infinitive ] be reluctant to do something : he hesitated to spoil the mood by being inquisitive.

Doyle, perhaps I sholud have put real man in quotes I meant the general stereotype of the real man : someone who is big and brawny and deals with the real world . While that stereotype is a bit silly, I still find this geek fight club thing ludicrous, and think that if they really desire a beating, they sholud go looking elsewhere (and that will quickly change their mind about their machismo etc).Have I been in a physical fight? Not really anything significant, in my adult life.
