Be in the know: Today's political bullet points

Every day we ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation inside and outside Washington.

RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:

– It's that time again: the Monday before Thanksgiving when every American having family over realizes their home is a wreck and they have to spend the week cleaning. It's a perfect week to slip news out while few pay attention.

– One bit of news that no one is paying attention to only because no one expected anything to begin with is the Super Committee appearing to fail. Everyone kind of expected that. The GOP was willing to raise taxes, just not enough for the Democrats. The Democrats were willing to tweak entitlements, just not enough for the GOP. Why compromise when we can fight it out at an election and pretend to claim a mandate?

– Folks are starting to ask if Newt is peaking too soon. I don't know, but the way he continues to handle himself in debates, I want him around for a while. And now he is challenging Romney in New Hampshire? Wonder if that is what prompted the Kelly Ayotte endorsement of Romney.

Senior Editor of Mario Solis-Marich:

– Native Envoy: Top Democratic insider pollster Celinda Lake announced last week that the Latino enthusiasm gap can cost Obama the presidential election – polling firm Latino Decisions and other community members have been warning of this for the past year but perhaps Lake is the type of messenger that will be heeded by Axelrod, Plouff et al.

– Barren Harvest: The Super Members of the Super Committee meet their kryptonite as Lex -Grover Norquist-Luthor wins the first round for the 1%.

– Turkey Dinner: GOP front-runner du jour Newt Gingrich called for the use of child labor as a replacement for janitors in public schools; Newt has been called the smartest of all the GOP candidates by conservatives, and they should know.
