Be in the know: Today's political bullet points

Every day we ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation inside and outside Washington.

RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:

– Wall Street firms made more in the first two and a half years of the Obama Administration than the whole 8 years of the Bush Administration. Someone might want to occupy the White House.

– There are off-year elections tomorrow in Virginia, Kentucky, and elsewhere. The Virginia GOP looks set to take the State Senate, which would be a big win for Bob McDonnell and put him on the short list for Veep.

– Conservative angst: the base is starting to take a Mitt Romney nomination seriously and it troubles them largely because if he does it he'll have taken the nomination largely without conservatives.

Senior Editor of MarioWire.com Mario Solis-Marich:

– Desert Winds: Arizona’s legislative leader and Anti-immigrant law author State Senator Russell Pearce is in a dead-heat with a severely underfunded Republican who has struck a moderate tone on immigration, the too-close-to-call race has the state GOP stunned.

– Cactus Needles: Herman Cain was stumped over a simple question on Medicare at a debate this weekend; maybe he thinks Medicare is a program in the Republic of Ubeki-beki-beki-stan-stan.

– Sand Storms: The White House was met with more than a bit of skepticism over the weekend at a Latino town hall in California, apparently it’s more than “talk show hosts and bloggers” that are unhappy with the President's continued embrace of overly-aggressive immigration tactics.
