Be in the know: Today's political bullet points

Every day we ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation inside and outside Washington.

RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:

– President Obama has a new head of the Council of Economic Advisors. Maybe this guy will work out.

– If a conservative were to declare Barack Obama had a militant black agenda or was a communist or what have you (and some have), the media would dismiss them as cranks. But what of the secular reporters from Ryan Lizza to Bill Keller to a host of others who are reporting on Michele Bachmann's and Rick Perry's largely mainstream Christianity as if they are in a cult? More fundamentally, the reporters are getting all the facts wrong, for example, claiming Bachmann is a follower of Rushdoony and Francis Schaefer, when Schaefer was largely dismissive of Rushdoony, i.e. hard to follow to people who contradict each other. Perhaps it is not the politicians who need to stay away from religion, but the reporters who know nothing about it. Exit point: why does the media treat evangelical Christianity as some spooky cult intent on imposing theocracy on American when, should a conservative raise these points about Islam, the media would immediately claim the person a bigot?

– Newt Gingrich went home to Georgia to actively campaign for the Georgia GOP straw poll vote in Perry, GA this weekend. He was the only candidate present. He spoke and rallied the crowd. He came in forth behind Herman Cain, Ron Paul, and Rick Perry in that order. Is Gingrich trying to hold on for matching funds? And if so, do matching funds induce candidates to get in and/or keep candidates in far longer than they should stay?

Senior Editor of Mario Solis-Marich:

– Watched Pot: The right complained about the “hype” and over preparation of Obama’s approach to hurricane Irene, apparently they prefer the Bush approach of waiting to see the disaster unfold before deciding on a plan for acting on it.

– Reheat: Real estate millionaire Gov. Rick Perry likes his book again and has decided that Social Security is a “ponzi scheme” after all, Gov. Perry’s is hoping, that like Texas chili,, his positions taste better as leftovers.

– Undercooked: The Obama campaign is still stung by the lack of enthusiasm for the 2012 election by Latino voters and now Administration watchers are wondering about the downturn of Hispanic federal hires over the last two years.

Editor’s Note: The blog is a place for a freewheeling exchange of ideas and opinions. CNN does not endorse anything said by its contributors.

Dear CNN, please take a look at the ORC polling numbers, it looks like they've been pretty brutally fudge. Not saying Perry isn't the front runner (he is, according to Gallup), but the numbers from there are shifty. Giuliani? Really? And the swings in variation are off as well. Check the link, it's good info

To CNN and all mainstream media outlets, particularly those who totally ignore Ron Paul's message because their news correspondents are also psychics in there opinions about Dr. Paul's political views and platform not being worthy enough, mainstream enough, for Ron Paul to be considered a real presidential candidate. They actually state; "... Ron Paul will never be President, he is unelectable. That is why he doesn't deserve viable coverage."
It is interesting that your site has not one lead story on Dr. Ron Paul, not even when you use your sites search engine. The mainstream media corps have told all of you to disregard, and therefore, to disrespect this honorable man running for the office of President of the United States of America. Are you against what he stands for? Then tell us the reasons. Is it what his voting record shows? Then disclose it. Or can it be that he is the only candidate that does not change or slant his platform to what he says he'll do as President for the sake of popularity or vote solicitation? What are you all afraid of? Is the mainstream corporate media machine telling you what not to write about, what stories to cover and which ones to ignore?

You all know that is exactly what your truth is, a truth you must live with everyday, or be looking for work elsewhere as a discredited journalist for speaking the truth. This is propaganda on the corporations part, and truly selling out on yours. As long as "Big Brother" as you afraid of your life's possibilities, they've enslaved you. They win! You lose.

Ron Paul speaks his truth, lives his truth, and walks his talk. Non of the media corps do, nor do their slaves. That is truly why Dr. Ron Paul does not get any coverage. If he had any dark secrets in his past the mainstream media empire would be fighting to tell the story first. But alias, Dr. Paul has non, so you collectively ignore him and the policies he stands for. That my fellow Americans is how we are all losing out. We do not want to deal with the truth. We are choosing to say enslaved. Dr. Ron Paul is running for a third time in 2012, for the office of President, because he was the only candidate in 2008 that told the truth of what was coming, and is in fact now here. Dr. Ron Paul was not respected then in 2008, by the news mecca corporate giant; being called names and labeled as a nut, not all there. Yet with all that the media has not done for him, his message is the same in 2012. We cannot effect real and meaningful change by doing the same things, to correct the same problems, and expect a different result. This is by definition, insanity. We must be for we as Americans still don't get it. Ron Paul is the answer, the only answer, to correct our countries crisis. A crisis we all helped co-create, and most of us still do so willingly.

"The truth is out there..." Just listen to Ron Paul and decide for yourself.
"The Truth Shall Set YOU Free!"
