RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:

– Newt Gingrich gave a combative, fiery, fine debate performance last night. But speaking and debating was never his problem. Everything else is.

– Byron York may have handed Iowa to Michele Bachmann. While I thought the back-and-forth between Bachmann and Pawlenty did them no favors last night, York asked Bachmann about "submitting" to her husband. Bachmann gave a solid answer that excited evangelicals on her defense of faith and marriage. It's getting a lot of buzz today.

– The must-read of the day is from Matt Miller at Center for American Progress, which captures a lot of the anger at Barack Obama from the left. This is the sort of stuff Republicans started saying about George H. W. Bush in 1991.
