– The Truth be Told: The media is waiting for the GOP Presidential field to “settle” and for serious candidates to “emerge”, I hate to be the one to tell you folks but this is all they got!

– This weekend in Minnesota, Michele Bachmann went 18 minutes over a 20 minute speech at Right Online. But doing so, she went for real substance on the debt ceiling, the reduction in the value of the dollar, and — surprisingly — how high the unemployment is within both the hispanic and black communities.

– Tim Pawlenty actually gave an impressive performance at Right Online as well. His flight in from Iowa was delayed so that he arrived ten minutes before the speech, did not have time to change into a suit, and took the stage without a podium or notes. He spoke for 20 minutes in a speech that, like the candidate, was slow and steady with a crescendo at the end that left the crowd on its feet. He didn't get the standing ovations that Bachmann or Herman Cain got, but he was well received.

– Of all the candidates' receptions this weekend, Rick Perry stole the show in New Orleans, LA at the Republican Leadership Conference. With echoes to Ronald Reagan's 1977 speech to CPAC, Perry made the case for conservative governance that left many attendees desperately wanting him to run and left many of his political enemies in Texas — many of whom are tied to the Bush Family — making the ironic argument that Perry is "George Bush on steroids" and cannot win a general election.
