Huckabee didn't backtrack one iota. Goofy reporters. Read the original interview. Unwed mothers may be fine people, but their children are at far greater risk for everything from incarceration to dropping out of high school. I'm sorry that the facts don't match up to your narrative, but immorality has consequences and sometimes those consequences are visited on your children. God is the ultimate judge, but that doesn't mean we should avoid make judgments on what is good or bad for society as a whole. We live in a nation that believes in helping those who are poor and hurting. This is good, but as long as it is true, I will have every right to decry personal behaviors that hurt children and cause our welfare rolls to grow.

If Mike Huckabee can criticize Natalie Portman for being an unwed mother, why can't he criticize George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld for mass murder, torture and indefinite detention without charges?
