Everyday we ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation in and outside Washington.
The turmoil in Egypt dominates our discussions today, and what is fascinating is that those at the highest levels of the US government aren’t quite sure how this will play out. President Obama has told President Mubarak making an orderly exit is in his best interests, and US officials say British Prime Minister David Cameron’s message is quite similar. But here is a huge problem for the Obama White House: they have no hope that other senior leaders in the Arab world will tell President Mubarak he needs go, because his departure could raise pressures on their governments as well. “It’s not clear he is listening,” a good national security source says of Mr. Mubarak. “It’s hard to see him stepping down right away, but there are ways to have a dialogue and a transition that includes a graceful exit. But we don’t see any real effort at that dialogue just yet.”

– Republican Senators like Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) are suggesting the new guys like Mike Lee and Rand Paul be seen and not heard. That won't go over well.
– Turns out Barack Obama may have a problem. He wants to end "subsidies" for oil companies, but generally they are also the natural gas explorers. You hurt the oil companies and you essentially also hurt natural gas providers.
– Senate Democrats are not happy about President Obama's pledge to veto legislation filled with earmarks. Let's see if he'll keep that promise.
