– The ranking Democrat in Georgia as of tomorrow, Georgia Senate Minority Leader Robert Brown, suggests that his counterparts in the GOP meet under white sheets at midnight. At a subsequent press conference, Brown said he wouldn't apologize for making a clear reference to the KKK and one of his security details promptly beating up a reporter. Thus ends the credibility of the Democrats in Georgia.

– House Republicans have empowered new Budget Chairman Paul Ryan to set spending limits on the federal budget. Democrats are not happy, but then they never even passed a budget in 2010.

– Happy New Year. Don't expect the coming year to be more harmonious in Washington.
