Midterms underway in Ohio
(CNN) – Statewide absentee or early voting in the midterm elections kicked off Tuesday in the perennial swing state of Ohio.
Ohio joined Nebraska this week in allowing early voting, which is also underway in Georgia, South Dakota, Iowa, Vermont and Wyoming.
Roughly another two-dozen other states will allow early voting in October.
In Ohio's first year of early voting in 2006, 17 percent of voters took advantage of being able to vote 35 days before the election, according to the secretary of state's office. That number jumped to 30 percent in the 2008 election. Of the nearly 5.8 million votes cast two years ago, over 1.7 million were early votes.

Does this President ever work? It seems he has been partisan and in campaign mode since the day he was sworn in.
Hello, I've been switching channels more often because I just can't believe how cnn is all about republicans winning. I can't believe anybody would vote republican. They've shown themselves to be just another hate group. I just can't watch it !!!!!!!!!!
The President appears to have his facts wrong in his speech in Madison. He claims that Repubicans were in control until 2009. As I recall, Democrats ran Congress since janaury of 2007. They spent the money and made the laws. mr. Obama was a member of that Congress.
I am tied of pundits going on television, rattling off their memorized notes, and completely ignoring the live speech they just watched. In addition to seeing the death of the republican party in my life time, I'd like to see this kind of unhelpful rhetoric from pundits die off as well.
