Be in the know: Today's political bullet points

Editor's note: Occasionally we will ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation in and outside Washington.

Talk Show Host and Online Editor of MyLatinoNews.com Mario Solis-Marich:

– The Tea Party and the GOP establishment has turned on Tom Tancredo who announced today that he is running for CO Governor – potential mentor: Joe Lieberman.

– VA Senator Jim Webb has succumbed to the racial McCarthyism burning through America as he calls for an end of Affirmative Action in government hiring – potential mentor: Pat Buchanan.

– Young immigrant activists are frustrated with biz as usual as beltway types push away offer from Harry Reid on law designed to help students – potential mentors: MLK, Gandhi, and Cesar Chavez.

RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:

– Democrats want to talk about "tax cuts for the rich." Fact: In 2000, the rich paid 56% of all income into the treasury. After the Bush tax cuts, the rich paid 60% of all income into the treasury.

– The left wants to keep talking about Shirley Sherrod to avoid talking about the economy and jobs. It might hurt them as more and more video comes out showing Andrew Breitbart may have gotten the NAACP video wrong, but overall got it right.

– Harry Reid tells Netroots Nation he wants a public option. That won't go over well with Nevada voters.
