Be in the know: Today's political bullet points

Editor's note: Occasionally we will ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation in and outside Washington.

Talk Show Host and Online Editor of Mario Solis-Marich:

– Faux News: The mainstream media continues to pretend AZ GOP Gov. Brewer is credible even as she begins to see nonexistent headless corpses from her back yard.

– Faux Outrage: Once the dust settles RNCs Steele will retain his position and the GOP will retain his new Afghanistan talking points.

– Faux Action: Obama immigration speech no replacement for pushing Congress and the GOP to actually do something.

Publisher, Mullings Report Rich Galen:

– The President sent 70+ Congressional Democrats who are in swing, or behavioral Republican districts with the anchor of having to discuss immigration during their annual Fourth-of-July picnics. The WH appears to have written off the House for 2011 and has begun to try and regain its momentum with the Liberal base for 2012.

– If Turkey follows through on its threat to cut off relations with Israel, it will be a problem not just for the US, but for the EU as a signal that Turkish PM Erdigan has completed his shift to the Muslim world/Asia and away from Europe.

– Unemployment numbers are beginning to cement themselves into the minds of the electorate for November. Bad employment numbers coupled with bad stock market performance will cause consumers to continue to sit on their wallets and increase unease with the President's (and Democrats') handling of the economy. People understand that 625,000 people took themselves out of the labor market last month which caused the unemployment rate to drop to 9.5 percent even though the economy shed 125,000 jobs.
