Be in the know: Today's political bullet points

Every day we ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation inside and outside Washington.

RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:

– Everyone is getting blame for Barack Obama's failures except Barack Obama. Bill Daley gets blame. Tim Geithner gets blame. Even the Jews are getting blame. Henry Waxman says Jewish voters voted GOP in NY District 9 because they wanted to protect their wealth. All this begs a question: why not take Carville's advice and fire someone if these people are to blame?

– One of the more pertinent pieces of information from Ron Suskind's upcoming book on the administration is that the experts and wise men in the White House are undermining the President, preferring not to do it his way. Is this because they are that arrogant or because they think he is out of his league?

– Rasmussen had Rick Perry ahead of Barack Obama in a head to head match up. After two debates? Perry is down six. It's not fatal, but the D.C. GOP will be nervous.

  1. Feeling Shortchanged

Every time I see CNN put the latest Obama approval poll up I laugh. Why don't you show the current polls for congress? They make Obama's numbers look incredible. Ronald Reagan raised taxes multiple times and George Bush the senior raised taxes to pay for the first Gulf War (Remember: Read My Lips! No New Taxes). Why does everyone assume that raised taxes has to be permanent? Raise them,,,,, let us get our house in order and lower them back. It worked with Reagan – Clinton before "W" broke us!
