Be in the know: Today's political bullet points

Every day we ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day's conversation inside and outside Washington.

RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:

– I don't think enough is being made by Republicans of President Obama's bus tour. It is blatantly a campaign tour and the President is forcing taxpayers to fund it. The entire "listening tour” is focused on town halls with lots of guests bashing the GOP and the President engaged in campaign rhetoric – but at the taxpayer’s expense. When President Bush did a similar trip, he used campaign funds. President Obama should as well.

– Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack contends that the growing rolls of food stamp dependent families is an economic stimulus. This is a level of tone deafness that should sicken people desperate for jobs. Even if we take him at his word that every dollar in food stamps generates an extra 84 cents into the economy beyond that dollar, he ignores the bureaucratic and administrative fees in processing the food stamp program that actually make it a loss to the economy.

– Governor Rick Scott has been able to hold on to Florida's AAA rating and Governor John Kasich of Ohio has seen his rating stabilize at AA+. Neither of them raised taxes. They chose to cut programs and renegotiate with unions. Only Barack Obama's federal government seems convinced that tax increases are necessary.

Where's the story about the Black Caucus member, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, asking her audience to be "unleashed" against Obama? Where is the response from the audience?
