John's info graphic is the worst I've seen. Where does the drilling "mud" compound actually come from (and why does John call it "sand")? Has he been briefed on this at all? It just suddenly appears gushing into the blow off preventer. Is it coming out of the tubes the ROVs are using? We don't know. It doesn't look hard though! Did you notice that it's a mile below the surface? Apparently something about this is hard!
Most importantly, does CNN know if a "top kill" has ever been done underwater at all? I am hearing it has not. John just says it hasn't been done out in the deep water before.
And poor Bill Nye isn't explaining the "Science of oil" . He's explaining what the "mud" compound is, what it does, and what "top kill" means as a plan. Your visitors are smarter than you think, they need you to do better work. Stop talking to them like children.
Your daily destination for political news. Join John each night as he pulls back the curtain on Washington, cuts through the partisan noise, and gets to the bottom of stories that affect you.
